Toner Pigments (Dye Lakes) are a specialized class of colorants created by precipitating or “laking” water-soluble cationic (basic) dyes onto an insoluble, inorganic complex anion substrate. The resulting pigment is an insoluble salt complex that combines the brilliant hue of a dye with the physical form and improved properties of a pigment.
